Stayed in the Earth room for 1 night and honestly wished I booked longer. The room is much bigger than most places I've seen in Yaowarat at this price. Everything was very clean — Dex and Farung were both very sweet. Would definitely stay again.
A traditional shophouse, thoughtfully updated.
House of Moonlight sits within one of Yaowarat's quieter lanes — a small boutique retreat in a neighborhood that has lived through a century of Bangkok.
Just steps away, the streets are alive with energy, food, neon and movement. But as you enter the house, it feels like stepping out of the chaos into something slower and more peaceful.
The building itself is a traditional Bangkok shophouse — narrow stairways, a vertical layout, timber and concrete bones that reflect the architecture of old Sampheng. It has been thoughtfully updated with clean, modern touches while preserving its original charm.
This is not a hotel. It is a simple, well-designed space set within a real, living neighborhood. Expect authenticity, comfort, and a stay that feels distinctly Bangkok.
Shophouses are the architectural DNA of old Bangkok — narrow-fronted, multi-storey homes where merchants once worked downstairs and slept upstairs. The few that survive in Yaowarat are over a century old, and most are still lived in by the families that built them. Staying in one is the closest you can get to how Bangkok's Chinese-Thai community has actually lived for generations.
